ABOUT ME
I grew up in Natural Bridge, Virginia. Natural Bridge is in the foothills of Blue Ridge mountains. the mountains dominated the landscape. Fall was my favorite time of year. Driving up on the Blue Ridge Parkway watching the splendor of leaves turning was a favorite family pastime. My high school had less than 500 students - in the entire high school. School life was about Friday night football and spirit week when we played other area teams, algebra with Mr. Stone and history with Mrs. Stone. Mr. Walker taught English and Mrs. Braford science. Everybody knew everybody else in Natural Bridge and life was great. Lexington was the closest 'big' town with a population of around 7,000. Lexington is the final resting place of Robert E. Lee, home of Virginia Military Institute (VMI) and Washington & Lee University (W&L) and a quaint community where time seems to stand still. I moved to Ocala, FL in 1981. Paddock Mall was the only thing between 17th Street and I-75. SR 200 was still a two lane road, as was 36th Ave. There have been a lot of changes to Marion County since 1981. The decline and now rejuvenation of Downtown Ocala, the growth of the SR 200 corridor to a vibrant retirement area, a horse park and the landing of the Fed-Ex distribution center. Marion County suffered greatly through the Great Recession but we are recovering! Marion County remains a great place to raise a family! I am a lifelong believer in Christ. Serving Him is the biggest passion in my life! |

My Husband
Earl and I married on May 4, 1991. He is the love of my life. We've been through great times, not so good times and downright horrible times. But through it all he has always been striving to be the husband the Lord requires of him. The husband of Ephesians 5:25-29 "Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church.."
This is a photo of Earl at the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam conflict. Jeffrey Askew helped the Veterans in Marion County have their own 'Welcome Home Celebration.' |
PhotographyI became an avid amateur photographer after the birth of our youngest, Elizabeth, in 1998. I love capturing the 'moment' - my husband's smile; the joy on my grandkid's faces; that perfect sunrise or sunset; catching the horse in mid-jump or running through their paddock; our youth group playing baseball; the leaves and flowers and God's magnificent creations.
A picture is worth 1,000 words. And I love capturing those 'words'. This is a photo during a competition at HITS, in NW Marion County. |
